Night 2

To get the streaks of colorful light in these photos I placed my tripod in the passenger seat of my car with the window rolled down. When I came to a street with particularly interesting lights I would take the photo and drive along the road until the shutter closed. I think this is particularly fun because depending on where you drove the images would either be super colorful or much lighter.

To capture this photograph I was in the parking lot across from St. Vincent Hospital. I set up my tripod and pointed it down the street. I wanted to capture not only the light streaks from the cars but also the light emitted from the street lights. The way the lights look under long exposure makes them look like stard floating just above the city ground.

In today's society there seems to be a "either or" attitude when it comes to beauty and intelligence. Either you  have long beautiful hair, classic good looks, stunning eyes, and a hot bod and assumed to be stupid or you are average looking but you have the brains to take you far in life. I wanted to photograph a woman who is not only beautiful but intelligent. Renee Seacor is in environmental science major who can be seen sloshing through a muddy river to get water samples. When she is not out studying the effects humans have on the environment in which they live she is fighting to change the way Rocky effects the environment. Renee is currently working with the Rocky Environmental Club to get solar panels installed on campus. When I took this photo it was the first photo shoot Renee had ever been a part of. She rarely wears make up and when she does its just powder. I had her hair done up and her make up strong to really change her from her normal appearance. Instead of a portrait like shoot, meant to show the subject's personality this shoot was to show her alter ego.
